What is Cyberbullying?

Cyberbullying is when someone uses technology—like social media, texts, or online games—to hurt, embarrass, or threaten others. This could be mean messages, spreading rumors, or sharing someone’s private info without permission.
It’s more common than you might think. In 2023, over 1 in 4 teens said they experienced cyberbullying in just one month. That’s a big deal.
Cyberbullying can make people feel anxious, sad, or alone. It can even affect school performance and mental health. And because it happens online, it can feel like there’s no escape.
But here’s the important part: you’re not alone. If you're being cyberbullied, talk to someone you trust—like a parent, teacher, or counselor. Save the messages, block the person, and report the behavior if you can.
Let’s all do our part to make the internet a kinder, safer place.
